F\u00f6rutom att dokumentera och kartl\u00e4gga vrakplatsen togs prover f\u00f6r vetenskaplig analys.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resultatet f\u00f6rv\u00e4ntades ge svar p\u00e5 var fartyget byggdes och hur gammalt det \u00e4r. Det \u00e4r m\u00f6jligt att Mader\u00f6vraket \u00e4r det \u00e4ldsta bev\u00e4pnade fartyget som hittats i \u00d6stersj\u00f6n. Studien syftar till att tillf\u00f6ra v\u00e4sentlig kunskap till v\u00e5r f\u00f6rst\u00e5else av medeltida skeppsbyggnad och sj\u00f6fart.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vraket uppt\u00e4cktes p\u00e5 1960-talet av en dykarklubb fr\u00e5n Stockholm i Kohamn, norr om Dalar\u00f6. Vid den tiden var marinarkeologi knappt erk\u00e4nd som en disciplin och vraket var n\u00e4stan bortgl\u00f6mt. N\u00e5gra f\u00f6rem\u00e5l, bland annat kanonkulor gjorda av sten, b\u00e4rgades vid den tiden och f\u00f6rvaras nu p\u00e5 Marinhistoriska museet.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kanonkulor av den typen fasades ut under senmedeltiden. Senare unders\u00f6kningar av dykare har avsl\u00f6jat detaljer om fartyget, vilket tyder p\u00e5 att det verkligen \u00e4r fr\u00e5n medeltiden.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div
