Ocean Dreams

Narrated by Shailene Woodley (french narration by Dr. Heidi Sevestre)

A giant-screen film about ocean recovery and conservation

Ocean Dreams is a breathtaking giant-screen film about marine resilience, recovery and the power of protecting life beneath the surface.

At a time when stories about the ocean are often dominated by decline and loss, Ocean Dreams takes audiences somewhere different: into living proof that recovery is possible. From the coral reefs of Raja Ampat to the recovering ecosystems of Bikini Atoll and the fjords of Norway, Ocean Dreams reveals what can happen when marine life is given the space and time to recover.

To us, Ocean Dreams is a way to make ocean recovery visible, deepen public understanding and help move audiences from awareness to action. This resonates directly with VOTOs mission: advancing ocean science and promoting ocean literacy. The film shows that the ocean is not a crisis to solve. It is a living world worth reconnecting with, and protecting for the future.

Endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade Action

Ocean Dreams is officially endorsed as a Decade Action under the UN Ocean Decade, led by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, IOC-UNESCO.

This recognition reflects the film’s role in strengthening ocean literacy, public engagement and understanding of marine recovery at a global scale.

Connected to Mission Neptune

Ocean Dreams also connects to the wider momentum of Mission Neptune, an international initiative bringing together ocean exploration, science, culture and governance to support stronger protection of the high seas and turn ocean knowledge into collective action.

For Voice of the Ocean, this reflects a wider belief: science, storytelling and collaboration must work together if we are to move from awareness to action.
