Ocean Dreams Gothenburg Premiere

On 21 October, Ocean Dreams had its Gothenburg premiere at Wisdome Gothenburg, at Universeum. The evening was hosted by Voice of the Ocean, Deep Sea Productions and Universeum. The audience saw the Swedish version, narrated by Therése Lindgren.

Ocean Dreams follows places where ocean life is thriving again. It goes from the coral reefs of Raja Ampat to Bikini Atoll, where sunken battleships are now covered in coral, and on to the fjords of Norway. The film shows what can happen when marine life is given the space and time to recover.

Ocean Dreams was made for giant screens. In a dome theatre like Wisdome, the curved screen surrounds the audience, and it feels like slipping into the sea.

The film is aimed at all ages, with young people especially in mind. As director Johan Candert has said: “Giant-screen formats let us put children ‘underwater’ in a way normal screens can’t. When they’re immersed in a reef or kelp forest, even for a few minutes, we can give them a story that they may remember for the rest of their lives.”

For VOTO, Ocean Dreams is a way to engage people and help move them from awareness to action.

Ocean Dreams opens to the public on 24 October at Wisdome Gothenburg, at Universeum, and at Cosmonova in Stockholm.

Thank you to Universeum for co-hosting the evening and welcoming us to Wisdome Gothenburg. Thank you also to Deep Sea Productions for producing the film, to SK Films for bringing it to audiences internationally, and to IOC-UNESCO, which coordinates the UN Ocean Decade, for endorsing Ocean Dreams as a Decade Action.

A special thank you to our partner Investment AB Latour, one of the partners that made the film possible, for a collaboration built on long-term thinking.

And thank you to everyone who joined us in Gothenburg.
